John Maatta

John is an attorney and businessman who focuses on film, TV, and streaming development, production, and distribution. John also represents creators and performers across broadcast, cable, and streaming platforms. John is experienced with issues involving finance, affiliate relations, HR, broadcast standards and media tech, marketing, and advertising. John is also a highly experienced trial lawyer who has litigated in both State and Federal courts.

After a decade at Warner Bros., where he served as COO, John joined The CW Television Network and served as the Co-Head and COO, where he was responsible for: media sales, finance, tech, legal, broadcast standards, network distribution, and HR. Most recently, he served as Executive VP and General Counsel at The CW.

In addition to advising creators and distributors, John collaborates with start-ups and growing companies. John was the CEO of Wizard Brands from 2016 to 2020, where he oversaw operations for Wizard and Jevo Holdings. He is still on the board of Wizard Brands.

John serves on the Board of Trader Vic’s Restaurant Corp, where he is the former Chairman. He was also the President of UNICEF Southern California, Chairman of the UNICEF Chinese Children’s Initiative, and a member of the UNICEF Board of Directors and Asia Society Board.
